Problem while installing byebug

Hello everyone!

When I run:
sudo bundle install
I get the following error:

Then after running the suggested
sudo gem install byebug -v ‘9.0.6’ --source ‘https://rubygems.org/

I get the following (sorry it’s not the screenshot, I can only post one picture here):

Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing byebug: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

Does anyone know how can I solve this?

Hi @srxco,

Based on people who have had similar issues in the past, it’s possible there’s an issue with the download. Do you have the same error if you re-download the zip file and run the commands again?

Another common culprit is not configuring rbenv correctly. If the above doesn’t help, can you try going through the rbenv install instructions again?

Let me know how it goes!
Matthew

Hi @Mmartinez.Appacademy, thank you for the answer!

Re-downloading the zip file didn’t work so I had to reinstall the rbenv which somehow solved my problem.

Thanks again.
