HTML & CSS Error Handling "Select" and "Option"

Learning Challenge

HTML/CSS

Question

Is the corrected source code in the correct direction? Being particularly cautious after receiving error messages for three prompts.

The prompts include:

  1. has exactly one input with a name of ‘pet_name’ and an associated label with the content ‘Name’
  2. has exactly one ‘select’ element with a name of ‘pet_type’ and an associated label with the content ‘Type’
  3. has exactly five ‘options’ elements in the ‘select’ element

What I’ve tried

After reviewing the source code and going back over lectures, I noticed that the “id”, “type”, “for”, and “value” tags are case sensitive. I suspect that this played a role in generating an error message.

Below is the updated source code.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Screenshots

Also, important to note that the “for” tag in the label points to the “id” tag? Is this accurate?

Hi Peter,
You’ve done a nice job debugging these errors! You are correct that the attributes and values are case sensitive, and you are also correct on which attributes to use to associate your label with your input. Since this is an assessment, I can’t comment on your final code, but the assumptions you outlined are all correct.

Thank you, Jesse! Helpful direction!
